Application - Chowchilla Management Zone

The Chowchilla Management Zone (CMZ) is offering Bottled Water or other interim drinking water solutions for private well users whose wells have nitrate levels above the drinking water standard. The CMZ will cover the cost of Bottled Water or another interim solution until a longer-term solution is identified for your home. Bottled Water will be provided to your home directly by a third party water home delivery company. To be eligible for this program, please submit the attached application to the Chowchilla Management Zone. The replacement water provided is to be used solely for drinking purposes.

Eligible applicants are: Residences located in the Chowchilla Groundwater Basin (which includes parts of the town of El Nido) whose private domestic well has been tested and verified to contain nitrate above the drinking water standard of 10mg/L. A free well test will be conducted to determine nitrate levels. Those who agree to allow their test results to be posted on the State’s GeoTracker Database, a publicly accessible database operated by the State Water Resources Control Board.
